In some cases, Outlook Express can lose its settings as the default mail client. This will prevent you from sending emails from within SAGE Workplace Windows app. You may receive an error or Outlook Express might freeze or lock up when you try to send an email from SAGE Workplace Windows app.
1. Close SAGE Workplace Windows app.
2. Then open Internet Explorer and go to Tools | Internet Options | Programs and set Outlook Express as the default mail program. Then re-start SAGE Workplace Windows app and try sending email again. If this does not fix the problem, close SAGE Workplace Windows app and Outlook Express and continue to step #3.
3. Open Internet Explorer and go to Tools | Internet Options | Programs again. Change the default mail program from Outlook Express to one of the other options (e.g., Hotmail). Click Apply and then hit OK.
4. Open Outlook Express and click Tools | Options. At the bottom of the General tab, click both "Make Default" buttons. Then hit OK.
5. Open SAGE Workplace Windows app and try sending an email again. If this does not fix the problem, close SAGE Workplace Windows app and Outlook Express and continue to step #6.
6. Go to Start | Run and type the following:
"C:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSIMN.EXE" /reg
(Note: Include the quote marks. Also, check the path to msimn.exe to make sure that is correct)
7. Then open Internet Explorer and go to Tools | Internet Options | Programs and make sure Outlook Express is still set as the default mail program. If it is not, change it to Outlook Express and hit Apply and OK.
8. Start SAGE Workplace Windows app and try to send an email.
This procedure re-registers Microsoft Outlook Express as the default email program so that MAPI will work properly.
