With AOL v7 or greater, when you try to send an email from within SAGE Workplace Windows app, you may get an error message that says "Message Not Sent, I could not connect with your email software properly." You may then get an error message that says "Your email message was not sent due to error #2147500037."
This error is caused when your AOL software is not configured as the default email program. Follow these steps to make AOL your default email program:
You can set AOL 9 (previous versions see below) as the default e-mail program as follows:
1. Close SAGE Workplace Windows app.
2. Open AOL.
3. Click the Settings icon on the toolbar.
4. Click the Index tab at the top if not already selected.
5. Click the AOL as Default link.
6. Click the OK button.
7. Re-start SAGE Workplace Windows app and your email should now work properly.
For previous versions follow these steps:
1. Close SAGE Workplace Windows app.
2. Open AOL.
3. Click the KEYWORD button and then type in "Preferences" (without the quotes) in the box and hit GO.
4. In the resulting preferences box, click the "Association" link to select America Online as your preferred application for web browsing, e-mail, and newsgroups. If you do not see "Association," click "AOL as default".
5. In the resulting association preferences dialog, click the OK button and then close the Preferences dialog.
6. Re-start SAGE Workplace Windows app and your email should now work properly.
The email functionality in SAGE-Online requires AOL 7 or greater since earlier versions of AOL software did not provide the ability for third-party software to email through the AOL software. See Cannot send emails from SAGE Workplace Windows app using older versions of AOL for more information.
SAGE-Online uses a technology called MAPI to send emails.
