Issue:

If you are having trouble sending email from SAGE Workplace Windows app and you have already tried the steps in , follow the directions here.

Solution:

1.  If you have not already done so, follow the steps in Cannot send email from SAGE Workplace Windows app first before proceeding below.  The following steps are for advanced troubleshooting only.

2.  Click Start | Run and type REGEDIT and hit OK.

3.  Click through the folders to locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\Mail\.

4.  Under the "Mail" folder, you will see several email client names.  Click on the email program that you want to use as your default email handler (e.g., Outlook Express).

5.  Two values should be displayed in the right pane: one is Default, which has a value of the email client, and the other is DLLPath, which contains the path to the MAPI file that will handle the email.  If you have Outlook Express, the DLLPath should typically say drive:\PROGRAM FILES\OUTLOOK EXPRESS\MSOE.DLL, but you may want to search for MSOE.DLL on your hard drive to determine the appropriate path.  If you have another email program, you should make sure that the appropriate values are listed in DLLPath.

6.  After step #5, if your email client still does not work, you should re-install your email software to make sure all of the appropriate MAPI files are installed.
